California's Air Quality

California's Air Quality Worst in World: Smoke from the Camp Fire is wreaking havoc on air quality all over the northern region of California, causing sky-high pollution levels and spurring public health concerns.

Air quality readings from Friday showed levels of pollution in the region exceeding levels for cities in China and India, making San Francisco, Stockton and Sacramento temporarily the most polluted cities in the world. While authorities say that rain forecast for this week will help clear the air, they caution that increased wildfires due to climate change should raise concern about the future of public health. "California is being reset to a new reality," pulmonologist and allergist Sharon Chinthrajah told the New York Times.
